June turned into an exciting month for the Brighton Etsy team as we joined in with the global craft party and created an amazing window display as a result!
The party took place on the 20th June and I helped to organise along with Karli of designosaur and Cheska of Mooshpie. The theme of this year’s party was CRAFT IN THE COMMUNITY, so we planned an evening of crafting and skill sharing that everyone could join in with! Cheska came up with the mega theme of ‘Craft Camp’, as many of the supplies Etsy sent us were for making merit badges. Here’s the poster I made for the event!
The evening was super busy as we ended up selling all 50 tickets which was brilliant! It took place at local creative hub Super+Super, which provided the perfect venue for our skill sharing. We also had goody bags for everyone who came, which included some craft supplies for making badges as well as some other goodies. Everyone also went home with one of my cat postcard prints!

On the night everyone was given a number which corresponded to a crafting station; there was pom-pom making, embroidery, badge making, felting and even a bit of knitting! Everyone was keen to get involved with was great to see. We also had a photobooth with local photographer Bob Prosser taking pictures of everyone with their evening makes. He also made an AWESOME video which shows what went on much better than any pictures I took!
As well as the actual party, we were also lucky enough to be allowed to create a window display for Super+Super, using all the things we made during the evening. Cheska did an amazing job curating this so that everyone could participate to make the window look really great. The window reflects the ‘craft camp’ theme with lots of little cardboard tents huddled around a campfire in the woods, while giant merit badges hang down showing off everyone’s crafts. The centrepiece of the window is a giant banner made by the super amazingly talented Ellen of BMillinery, and features an embroidered team logo, which was designed by helloDODO.
If you’re in Brighton be sure to head to Super+Super to check it out, it will be up for the whole of July!
The fun continues for Brighton Etsy team as we’re currently taking part in a trial scheme for Etsy; Mentor month! Expect another post on that soon!
